the ‘rutherford dust story’

Objective - They say legends are born and not made, that’s true when it comes to the terroir of the Rutherford Bench, arguably one of the world’s premiere wine growing regions in Napa Valley, California.

In the early 1920’s the Rutherford Dust Society was born, created by the pioneer winemakers from this region. These visionaries and their wines have become legend. Today, things have not changed much yet the story is left untold and so packagingarts came in with a solution.

Solution - Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines is a big part of the Rutherford story, creating premium wines from Beaulieu Vineyards, Hewitt, Provenance and Sterling, all located in this special place.

These wines are still made by winemakers who are true artisans. To tell their story, educate the consumer, drive vision and extend the brand, packagingarts, along with the client, developed a multi-level promotion that included a map, a wine event, banners, tickets and even a bike race - all geared for the trade.

The next chapter in the Rutherford Dust Story will continue in 2008, this time targeting consumers.
